Good News for All

May 21-22 is our mission focus weekend.  Join us for a weekend of challenging teaching and opportunities to investigate what a life of mission could look like for you.

Good news for all is the theme of the weekend and Tim Silberman from SMBC will be speaking three messages to challenge and equip us as we seek to be a church that takes seriously God’s call to proclaim His gospel to the ends of the earth.  The gospel is truly for all… it is for all people to hear and for all Christians to share, so join with us as we grapple with what embracing this reality might look like for us as individuals as well as for us as a church.

Along with bible teaching from Tim there will be numerous mission organisations and training institutes providing you with information about mission opportunities.  This year we have decided to focus on training for mission, so you will be presented with many different ways in which you might be able to be better prepared for the mission field God has put you in at work, family, school, university or friendships, or the mission field that He has prepared for you in another culture.

The weekend program begins on the Saturday Night with a dinner, a missions expo and a message from Tim.  On Sunday Tim will preach in both services and the mission presenters will be around as well.   Stay tuned for more details about the happenings across the weekend and other ways that you can get involved.

Tim Silberman worked as a physiotherapist before studying theology at SMBC.  He currently lectures in the School of Cross Cultural Mission and is studying towards his Master of Theology.  He is married to Peggy and they have 3 children, Hannah, Chloe and Jonathan.  It is our privilege to have him share the Scriptures with us over the weekend.
