Truly Good News
Confidence about our future
1 Corinthians 15 By the empty tomb, God declares loudly and eternally his great triumph over sin and death and Satan! Jesus’ resurrection is the proof of everything that his death had achieved. It gives us certainty about our future, that we who have trusted Christ will also be resurrected to eternal life. Knowing this should radically transform our lives between now and then.
The True Tabernacle
Various passages On Good Friday, we celebrate that because of Jesus, we can confidently enter into and enjoy the goodness and glory of God’s presence.
Luke 19:28-44 As Jesus approached Jerusalem riding on a young donkey, the crowd of excited pilgrims and disciples shouted praises to God. It was as if they were welcoming a royal procession. But will they recognise Jesus as the righteous and victorious King?
No longer condemned
Various; Romans 3:20-26 We need Easter to be true because we stand condemned as unrighteous sinners. Through Christ’s death on our behalf, God puts our sin on Jesus and gives us the righteousness of Christ. We are no longer condemned! This is truly excellent news, that not only brings us joy but is worth sharing!
Have we misidentified Jesus?
Luke 18:31-43 As we open our Easter series in the book of Luke, it’s important to reflect on exactly who Jesus is. While the question may sound simple, perhaps the Jesus we have in our heads isn’t quite the whole picture of the chosen Messiah spoken about in the Bible. In this account of Jesus’ interaction with the blind beggar, we see that in order to recognise the real Jesus, we must understand his authority, mercy, and mission.
Set Free from an Empty Way of Life
1 Peter 1:18-19 Because Easter is true, we can be set free from the empty way of life handed down to us by our ancestors to live lives of purpose as God’s people.
