Women of Purpose – Naked Confidence

Join us for this year’s Women of Purpose conference – a stimulating day of Bible teaching for all women.

Where: City North Baptist Church, Kedron
When: 15 Mar 2014 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

In Hebrews 10-13, God calls us to be ‘naked’. No facades, no barriers, no entanglements. Just close to Him. But are his demands too costly or unsafe? How can we confidently approach him? What hinders us?

Gillian Asquith, of Melbourne School of Theology, will speak over two sessions about Naked Confidence from Hebrews 10-13.

A little about Gillian…

WOPGillianAsquithGillian Asquith is English born and bred, meeting Christ through the witness of high school friends and becoming a teacher following studies at Oxford. Gillian has encountered many twists and turns in life, including the move to Australia, single parenting for the last sixteen years and a conviction to gain theological training for ministry work.

While at Melbourne School of Theology, Gillian quickly discovered a love for exciting other Christians about God’s Word, and helping it dwell richly in them through full understanding. She loves to see the Holy Spirit empowering women to apply God’s Word to their relationships and daily routines. Gillian relishes her lecturing roles in Melbourne and her role with the Centre for Biblical Preaching.

Gillian enjoys spending time with her two (almost) grown-up children. Sharing their ups and downs provides precious moments as they spread their wings and prepare to fly the nest.

Electives

We are offering 6 electives for our 2014 conference, all around the key theme: What entangles women today and keeps us from God?

Enter Freedom:
Sacrificing for love
Christ calls us to live in freedom as we sacrifice and serve one another. This elective will look at how we can live abundantly for others and shift beyond self-condemnation, martyrdom and resentment. Speaker: Fiona Millar12:50PM & 2:00PM
Life Without Mirrors:
Shifting from the selfie
How does the Cross answer our big questions: Who am I? How am I feeling? Does it matter anyway? In a culture continually calling us to look at ourselves, the Cross calls us to shift our gaze to find our true story. Speaker: Pauline Otte12:50PM & 2:00PM
