AM Series: Contentment In An Age of Greed
Most Christians would reject the suggestion that they are “materialistic” or that they could “buy happiness”, but more and more today people are becoming slaves to a lifestyle driven by money.Fashion, homes, entertainment, cars, holidays, outdoor recreation, appliances, dining out etc. are setting the agenda for modern life.
Constant in-your-face advertizing tells us how much better our lives would be if only we had “a little bit more”.  Yet the reality is that life today is actually more stressful, relationships are more strained, and people are less content than 50 years ago.
So how do we reconfigure our lives to find the contentment we long for in a crazy, often greedy, world?  Is it possible to live a godly life where money doesn’t rule us, and giving is more important than getting?  In this AM series we will explore some of the key passages of the Bible that will help us face our own attitudes towards money, align them with what God says, and help us find a satisfying freedom in the way we manage this important area of our lives.
