City North Baptist Church is an active member of its local community.

Some people from City North serve as Religious Education teachers in local primary schools and Wavell State High School. Religious Education teachers are unpaid volunteers who give their time to teach weekly lessons about Christianity in schools. Where possible, Religious Education teachers make their lessons fun and interactive as they teach students about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Bible.

City North sponsors the Chaplain at Wavell State High
School
, an integral part of the school community.

Seniors’ Café at Wavell State High School is a joint
initiative of City North and the school’s Chaplain to provide
senior students with an opportunity to take time out to
relax and chat with volunteers from the church over coffee
and tasty treats.

Through Group 61, City North is assisting other volunteers to meet with and encourage people experiencing mental illness, associated with Prince Charles Hospital at Chermside. City North has provided people in Group 61 with opportunities to have fun and mingle with other people through activities such as a barbeque and a beach day.

City North runs activities open to people from the local community, such as an annual Kids Holiday Club.

City North’s annual Christmas Carols on Bradbury is becoming a popular event for the Kedron community to celebrate Christmas at Bradbury Park.

From a South-East Queensland perspective, City North supports John and Maria Tonga who are pastoring a church for Indigenous people at Logan with their children Viliami, Sione, Sipa, Esikeli and Katalina.
